The single platform of Newhaven Marine is numbered 3; it is long enough for 12 coaches, and is to the south of Newhaven Harbour station. There is a run-round loop. The branch is sometimes used as a turn-around for diverted trains in the event of disruption on the Eastbourne line, or for 'Ghost Trains' switching back to Newhaven Harbour.
